This is a pendant with a "Tree of Life" design. The pendant has a 1" diameter and is on a adjustable, slip knot necklace. Accenting the piece is black tulsi wood beads, silver ebony coin beads from Mali, Africa, and Nigerian brass beads. Tulsi wood beads are made from a sacred tree in Vrindavana, India called Tulasi. The Tree of Life is also referred to as the "Tree of Knowledge", It is said to connect the heavens and the underworld, thus connecting all forms of creation. In addition, various cultures have their own meanings, including the Egyptians, the Baha'i Faith, Chinese, Jewish, and Christianity, and American Indian. This Tree of Life necklace is nicely made. Not my favorite piece of jewelry, but I think I like it enough that I will wear it.
